9th ACNFP_PGT Subcommittee Meeting

The 9th meeting of the ACNFP_PGT Subcommittee will be held at 10.00am on Tuesday the 18th of July 2023 as a hybrid meeting in person and via Microsoft Teams.

Executive Summary

• Minutes from ACNFP-PGT7 and 8 were reviewed. Comments on minutes for PGT7 and 8 will be received by correspondence for amendment and clearance by Chair action. These will be published alongside the next PGT output on precision bred organisms (PBOs).  
• A workshop was held to resolve outstanding questions on the data requirements to support the review of the safety of PBO applications, using the decision tree from the ACNFP Statement on Precision Bred Organisms (PBOs) (January 2023). A draft statement on these data requirements and their scientific justification, taking into consideration the discussions held to date, was also reviewed and will be taken forward to ACNFP for input and agreement.
