8th ACNFP_PGT Subcommittee Meeting

The 8th meeting of the ACNFP_PGT Subcommittee will be held as a virtual meeting at 10.00am on Wednesday the 17th of May 2023 via Microsoft Teams.

Executive Summary

• Minutes from ACNFP-PGT7 were reviewed; Members’ inputs identified areas which needed clarification. The minutes will be updated accordingly and recirculated with members for agreement. These will be published alongside the next PGT output on precision bred organisms (PBOs).  
• A workshop was held to identify the data requirements for review of the safety of PBOs, using the decision tree from the ACNFP Statement on Precision Bred Organisms (PBOs) (January 2023). Principles concluded from the discussion so far, underpinning the development of the framework for the assessment of the safety of PBOs, were also reviewed. 
• Comments were received on a draft safety advice for GHB811 genetically modified cotton (RP1232).
