6th ACNFP_PGT Subcommittee Meeting

The 6th meeting of the ACNFP_PGT Subcommittee will be held as a virtual meeting at 10.00am on Wednesday the 1st of February 2023 via Microsoft Teams.

Executive Summary

• Minutes from ACNFP-PGT5 were reviewed and agreed, pending minor corrections.
• An application for the authorisation of genetically modified cotton (GHB81) was reviewed for the first time. The Secretariat has been asked to draft Committee advice on the application, to inform the development of the Safety Evaluation Outcome.
• An application for the renewal of the authorisation of genetically modified cotton (GHB614) was reviewed for the first time, together with a draft of the committee advice on the application. This was agreed and will be reviewed by the full ACNFP Committee at their next available meeting.
• A workshop was held to pilot the assignment to tiers and data requirement for the reviewing of the safety of PBOs using the decision tree from ACNFP Statement on PBOs (January 2023) and case studies identified from the recent literature.
• The handling of real and perceived conflicts of interests of Members was reviewed and agreed to be appropriate and not requiring amendment.
