2nd ACNFP_PGT Subcommittee Meeting

The 2nd meeting of the ACNFP_PGT Subcommittee will be held as a hybrid meeting at 10.30am on Monday the 8th of August 2022 via Microsoft Teams with in person attendance in London.

Executive Summary

• A workshop was held to further explore a tiered approach to the assessment of Precision Bred Organisms (PBOs). The Subcommittee identified any potential risks associated with a series of PBO case studies. Members explored the scenarios and circumstances that could inform criteria for a tiered approach to the regulation of PBOs.
• Only a limited set of scenarios were identified that could support a deeper consideration of potential risks or changes in risk profile. The outcome of the Subcommittee’s discussions will be reviewed by ACNFP and its wider expertise for endorsement.
