- Fusarium str. flavolapis RP1637 – The Committee reviewed this novel food application, a protein derived from a mycelial biomass, for the first time. Information gaps were identified across identity, production process, composition and stability, specifications nutrition, ADME and toxicological information that required further information to complete the assessment. The Secretariat was advised to seek further information from the applicant. Issues were also raised on allergenicity, and the Committee agreed an in-depth intersessional review of this section was required to identify information gaps and complete the assessment. The CAD will be updated in due course and reviewed at the next available meeting.
- β-lactoglobulin RP1571 - The Committee reviewed this novel food application, a protein ingredient (≥ 90% β-lactoglobulin), for the first time. Information gaps were identified across identity, production process, composition and stability, specifications, proposed uses, nutrition and allergenicity that required further information to complete the assessment. The Secretariat was advised to seek further information from the applicant. The CAD will be updated in due course and reviewed at the next available meeting.
- Fermotein RP1215 - 0. The Committee reviewed Fermotein for a second time. The applicant’s responses to further information sought by the Secretariat were reviewed. Further information gaps were raised on the identity, production process, composition, specifications, proposed uses, nutrition, ADME and allergenicity.
- Allulose RP1130 - The Committee reviewed Allulose for a second time. Two subsequent applicant’s responses were reviewed alongside the FSA Exposure Assessment Team’s review of the applicant’s assessment of exposure. Data gaps were identified across the production process, composition, stability, exposure assessments and ADME. Due to meeting time constraints, it was agreed that intersessional Committee review of specific areas would take place by correspondence to further identify information gaps and complete the assessment.
- Three GM items were reviewed as reserved business: NS-B5ØØ27-4 oilseed rape RP1745, RF3 CQ Brassica juncea RP2178 and DP-915635 maize (Zea mays) RP2242. The assessments were finalised following detailed reviews by the PGT-Subcommittee. Their respective CADs were agreed with minor edits. These outputs will proceed to publication.
