Joint Subgroup of the Advisory Committee on Novel Foods and Processes (ACNFP) and Committee on Toxicity (COT) on CBD and Hemp Derived Products

The 12^th meeting of the ACNFP/COT CBD Subcommittee will be held at 10:00am on the 11^th of September 2024 on Microsoft Teams.

Members are reminded of the need to announce any commercial interests in the business of the Committee prior to the discussions on each item.

In accordance with agreed procedures, the Secretariat is duty bound to keep a record of the names of Members who have declared interests at meetings of the Committee, giving dates, names of relevant products and companies, details of the interest declared, and whether the Member took part in the proceedings.

12th Meeting of the ACNFP/COT Subcommittee on CBD and Hemp Derived Products - 11th September 2024 Agenda

1. Apologies and Announcements.

2. Welcome and Introductions.

3. Minutes from the previous meeting – The Subgroup will review the minutes from July 2024.

4. Introduction to the subchronic datasets for CBD novel foods with a range of cannabinoids present and CBD below 70% - the Subgroup will review group C datasets for the first time in order to assess if they data supports the safety of the novel food seeking authorisation. CBD12/2024/01

5. THC as a contaminant statement for review  – Following previous discussion of the first draft statement, the Subgroup will review a revised draft statement on THC as a contaminant in CBD and hemp derived products. CBD12/2024/02

6. AOB – Secretariat to discuss the topics of the remaining 2024 meetings and what is currently being planned for future reference.
