Joint Subgroup of the Advisory Committee on Novel Foods and Processes (ACNFP) and Committee on Toxicity (COT) on CBD and Hemp Derived Products

The 11^th meeting of the ACNFP/COT CBD Subcommittee will be held at 10:00am on the 16^th of July 2024 on Microsoft Teams.

Members are reminded of the need to announce any commercial interests in the business of the Committee prior to the discussions on each item.

In accordance with agreed procedures, the Secretariat is duty bound to keep a record of the names of Members who have declared interests at meetings of the Committee, giving dates, names of relevant products and companies, details of the interest declared, and whether the Member took part in the proceedings.

11th Meeting of the ACNFP/COT Subcommittee on CBD and Hemp Derived Products - 16th July 2024 Agenda

1. Apologies and Announcements.

2. Welcome and Introductions.

3. Minutes from the previous meeting – The Secretariat and Subcommittee will review the minutes from May 2024.

4. Group A novel food applications – new datasets for review - the Subgroup will review new group A datasets from applications RP47,176, 225 and 521 not previously considered to inform the assessment of these novel foods. CBD11/2024/01

5. Review of provisional ADI in light of new datasets on novel ingredients of 98% or greater purity CBD – The review the latest data on 98% purity CBD and the impact if any this has on the provisional ADI set in 2023. CBD11/2024/02

6. THC as a contaminant statement for review – Following previous discussion of the literature review, the Subgroup will review the draft statement on THC as a contaminant in CBD and hemp derived products. CBD11/2024/03

7. AOB – Secretariat to discuss the topics of the remaining 2024 meetings and what is currently being planned for future reference.
