164th ACNFP Meeting

The 164th meeting of the ACNFP will be held on Wednesday the 7th of February 2024. Further details to follow.

Executive Summary

• A Committee Advice Document from the PGT Subcommittee on GM applications; Genetically modified maize and its sub-combinations NX603xT25xDAS-40278-9 RP1791 was reviewed and agreed subject to minor amendments to be cleared by ACNFP Chair’s action.
• The revised draft Committee Advice Document for Calcidiol was presented for the second time where the members were asked to review and comment. The Committee advised that the document required further revision especially on the toxicology section. The Secretariat will amend and finalise this document via Chair’s action.
• Members reviewed the applicant’s response to the request for further information for corn protein. Following the discussion, they advised the Secretariat to seek more detailed explanations on production process and nutrition sections.
• The Committee was updated on the regulated products service and the continuous improvements the feedback from members will inform the further development of efficiency of the service.
• The Committee reviewed the response to further information requested from the applicant for vitamin D2 mushroom powder. Following review of the applicant’s response, the Committee advised the Secretariat to seek further information on the production process. The applicant’s response will inform the further development of the Committee Advice Document to be considered at the next available meeting.
• The Committee reviewed CBD application RP350 for the first time. The members were also presented with a Committee Advice Document for comment. Following wider discussion of the composition and proposed uses sections the Committee Advice Document was agreed subject to amendments to be considered by Chair’s action.
• Following the discussion on RP350, it was agreed the Committee Advice Document for RP07 should be updated in a similar way. The Committee Advice Document for this dossier was agreed subject to amendments to be considered by Chair’s action.
